After 6 weeks of closure due to Covid 19, the Whale Museum reopened today. Opening hours in May are from 12-16pm. It will be closed on Sundays. Plenty of alcohol and the two meter rule will of course be respected. The maximum number of visitors inside the museum is limited to 50 people at a time.
According to Heiðar Hrafn Halldórsson, project manager at the Whale Museum, the staff is quite relieved to be able to reopen the museum, even though of course there will be very few visitors in the first few weeks. As of today, several visitors have come to the museum, so it's quite lively compared to the last few weeks. According to Heiðar, the whale museum should be a must-stop for domestic tourists this summer, as it is an extremely successful museum that, among other things, houses one of the two whale sharks on display in Europe.
