The whale museum is a recognized museum
In 2014, the Whale Museum in Húsavík was recognized by the Minister of Education as a recognized museum, on the recommendation of the Museum Council. Accredited museums must operate in accordance with the provisions of the Museums Act, and the Swedish Museums Council is responsible for supervising museum activities in the country.
