The Whale Museum receives funding from the Museum Fund 2016

Allocations have been made from the Collection Fund 2016, but the work of the Collection Fund according to the Collection Act no. 141/2011 is primarily to promote the activities of museums covered by this law.

collector's rowThe whale museum in Húsavík this time received 2,2 million ISK in project grants. On the one hand, it is a grant of 800.000 ISK. for the installation and publication of a new information brochure about the museum and, on the other hand, a grant of ISK 1.400.000. for the installation of a new exhibition about whaling.

Work on the exhibition will begin this fall, but the brochure is expected to be published this spring.
