Sparisjóð Suður-Þingeyingi supports the Whale School

Sparisjóður Suður-Þingeyinga recently allocated 460.000 ISK from its community fund to support the Whale School of the Whale Museum in Húsavík. It was Helga Dögg Aðalsteinsdóttir from the Savings Fund in Húsavík who handed over the grant to Eva Bjarkar Káradóttir, director of the Whale Museum, and Garðar Þrastar Einarsson, director of the Whale Museum.

The Whale School is a joint project of the Whale Museum, kindergarten, primary and secondary schools in Húsavík and the surrounding area, and promotes the education of students about whales and their habitat in Iceland and increased connections with the habitat in the local environment.

This grant will be of great use to Hvala School for the purchase of equipment, development of study materials and student field trips.
The Whale Museum at Húsavík Savings Bank is very grateful for the support.
