The project of the Whale Museum presented on the occasion of the Our Ocean conference in Washington DC

The Whale Museum's project, Connecting Coastal Communities, is one of the many projects presented on the website 1000 Ocean Actions which was opened in connection with Our Ocean conference in Washington DC this past weekend. The conference, which is organized by the US State Department, discusses the protection of marine areas, the sustainable use of marine resources, marine pollution and the effects of global warming on the oceans.

The project Connecting Coastal Communities is one of the three contributions of Icelanders that will be featured interactive map at 1000 Ocean the site, as part of the protection of the sea.

Iceland's representative at the conference was Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture.
